As you may have guessed, we are getting lots of emails regarding this site. The response had been tremendous and we want to share a few of these with you now. Over 90% of the emails we receive are positive in nature and only 10% have been critical to what we are trying to do here.

We hope that you have made a call recently to the governor expressing your hopes in pro-hunting and pro-shooting individuals getting the nomination to this years MDC commission appointments. The phone number is to the right of the webpage.

Here are some of our favorite emails that we feel tell it like it is.

The department is worried more about themselves and their jobs than the people, most states that won't allow handfishing are just too scared to deal with a little opposition to the sport.

Why do we get so many dvd sales from Missouri if it is so bad?

People have been handfishing since it was taught by Native Americans on up to the depression in the 30's. I hope you get those guys out of there at the MDC. Thanks for what you do!

Thank you for this website. As an MDC employee I can tell you that many of us here are biting our nails and hoping for the best when the governor makes his appointments. Bob Staton would be a great commissioner however anyone who is truly pro-hunting would be a welcomed change. If they hire one more granola crunching tree hugger around here, I'm gonna puke.

A growing group of us are keeping our fingers crossed.

At one time when there was an open Outdoor Skills Specialist position within MDC I had numerous agents, supervisors and even some of the OSS folks try to talk me into applying for the job. I always wondered if not "going for it" was the wrong decision; well MDC has certainly answered that question for me. One of the requirements of an OSS is to keep the volunteers motivated. Somehow I don’t see how that is possible when MDC turns their back on the Hunter Education Instructors. The Hunter Education Program reached three milestones this year, 50 Years of Hunter Education in Missouri, we certified our 1,000,000 student and MDC cancelled all funding for the Annual HE Conferences.

I can only say that I view what the O&E Division did in this respect as nothing more than a slap in the face for all of the time I have volunteered and after 20 years it really hurts. I would love nothing more than to tell Ms. Domke what she can do with my Lifetime Certification Card but I cannot as the only ones that would suffer would be the youngsters. Maybe MDC doesn’t care about the safety of our future hunters but I do!!!

I am not a MDC employee thank goodness but just wanted to throw some thought into the anti-gun pot by MDC. I made several contacts with MDC officials about getting a shooting range in Oregon County. All I got was run around and lies. I went straight to the top and e-mailed Hoskins when the commissioners wanted to buy a new plane for them and Hoskins to ride around in. The arrogance of the answers were unbelievable when asked how they could justify buying a new plane when I was told the funds were not available to pay someone to find land on which to buy to build a shooting range in Oregon County. Anyway the e-mail exchanges stopped on their part when I informed them that I would consider working to get the MDC sales tax repealed.

I just wanted to say thank you for your work on that website. Finally someone is spilling the beans for these bastards. I can tell you first hand that the MDC leadership is more concerned with public appearance than what the hunters and anglers of Missouri want to accomplish. I was pissed beyond all measure when I heard Steve Wilson was fired. I hope Hoskins is unemployed in a few months.

As an employee at the MDC I can tell you the reason John Hoskins and Denise Brown are not NRA members, they hate the NRA and do not agree with its policies. For them to tell people that they are not members to simply avoid the appearance of a conflict of interest is BS and a smoke screen. For years former directors and management have aligned themselves with different organizations and in fact Missouri's first hunter education coordinator, F.E. "Bud" Eyman, served on the NRA Board of Directors while he was employed by MDC and no one felt that was a conflict of interest. Folks, don't buy into this crap that they are trying to pull, the reason they didn't know about the NRA convention is because none of the leadership are members and would rather not attend that event anyway. That's how they feel about the NRA.

Just one look at the budget will tell you that what the MDC put up yearly for the Hunter Ed conference was a drop in the bucket. When Hoskins, Brown and Domke forever cancelled that event, I had my mind made up. These guys need to go!

Without people who stand up now and raise a fuss about what's going on, it will only get worse. If we don't act now it may get to the point of no return. Gun owners, hunters, and sportpeople of all walks of life need to act!
